Tuition Calculation in Cases of Credit Transfer or Waiver/Exemption from Courses

Transfer of Credits, Waiver/Exemption from Courses, “Full-time” and “part-time” definitions are governed by AUA policies. (See, for example, http://policies.aua.am/policy/148 for “Concurrent and Non-concurrent Enrollment and Waiver of Requirements for University-level Courses”, http://policies.aua.am/#?id=126 for “Transfer Credit” Policy,  http://policies.aua.am/#?id=127 for “Time Status” Policy).

As a general rule, students do not pay for credits transferred to AUA or credits from which they are waived or exempt.

If the number of credits for enrolled courses is below the number required for full-time status at the end of the add/drop period for the given term, tuition is calculated as described below (See Time Status policy, http://policies.aua.am/policy/127).

Number of credits enrolled for the given term corresponds to full-time

Number of credits enrolled for the given term is below the full-time load

Graduate Students

Regular tuition for the term, in accordance with the Education Contract.

Tuition is calculated per credit. The per-credit fee is the same as the fee set for non-degree studies in the enrolled degree program at the time the student signed his/her latest Education Contract or any amendments to it. Tuition assistance and/or scholarship awards the student has been awarded do not apply to the courses taken at AUA in the given term.

Undergraduate Students

Regular tuition for the term, in accordance with the Education Contract.

Tuition is calculated per credit. The per-credit fee is the applicable annual tuition fee multiplied by four and divided by the total number of credits required for the program the student is enrolled in as set in his/her Education Contract or any amendments to it. Tuition assistance and/or scholarship awards the student has been awarded do not apply to the courses taken at AUA in the given term.

If the number of credits for enrolled courses is below the number required for full-time status at the end of the add/drop period for the given term as described above, tuition assistance and/or scholarship awards the student has been awarded do not apply to the courses taken at AUA in the given term.

Even in cases when the total course load for the given load (enrolled courses + transferred courses) corresponds to full-time as described above, the tuition bill for that term is calculated as described above and no tuition assistance and or/scholarship is applied.
